Office Manager
Lorita
With over two decades of experience in dentistry, Lorita has been a guiding force at SmilesNY since 2008. Originally trained in Georgetown, Guyana, Lorita brings both skill and warmth to her role as Office Manager. She’s passionate about helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their care, whether that means walking them through treatment plans, discussing financial options, or simply offering a listening ear.
Lorita thrives in the team environment at SmilesNY, where the welcoming, family-like atmosphere sets the tone for every patient visit. She plays a key role in keeping the front office running smoothly, supporting both staff and patients with dedication, wit, and a problem-solving mindset.
Outside the office, Lorita recharges by spending time in nature—hiking, camping, and soaking up the sunshine whenever she can. She’s a self-described lover of life, a fan of great food (especially from Tao!), and someone who believes that “the future depends on what we do in the present.”
Dental Assistant
Darline
Darline has been a dental clinician since 1993 and part of the SmilesNY dental team since 2000.
She became a certified dental assistant after graduating from the Mandi School in New York, NY.
Darline plays an essential role at SmilesNY by helping our patients receive effective treatments to improve their dental health.
She prepares patients for their treatment and assists during the procedure process. Darline is fluent in French, which allows her to communicate
effectively with some of our out-of-town patients.
Dental Hygienist
Carol
Carol has been a vital part of the dental field for over 30 years, beginning her career as a dental assistant right here at SmilesNY.
Inspired to take the next step, she earned her degree from Plaza College in Queens and is now a licensed Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
Friendly, helpful, and always patient-focused, she has a natural ability to make everyone feel at ease in the dental chair.
Dental Hygienist
Maria
Maria has been working in the dental field since receiving her degree in dental hygiene from New York University in 1995.
She later received certification from New York University in local anesthesia and nitrous sedation.
At SmilesNY, Maria performs dental cleanings as a part of preventive dental care.
She also takes digital x-rays and completes preliminary examinations of the mouth for areas of disease or damage, and works with her patients to help them understand how to improve their dental health.
When not treating her patients at SmilesNY, Maria enjoys volunteering her services to many dental clinics, some as far away as Jerusalem.
