"I don't usually take time to write reviews, but I felt it was time to give KUDOS that are well deserved. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Chase set 8 porcelain crowns; I can happily say I've had no problems during the procedures or in the years that I've had them! In fact, during the last session, I felt so relaxed, sans any medication, I could've easily fallen asleep. Dr. Chase and the staff are meticulous and precise in their attention to detail. Each step is explained in advance and my comfort level is always top priority. I confidently recommend Dr. Chase and his staff at Smiles NY!!"- P.R. / Google / Jun 17, 2021

"Just returned to Dr Roth after a 13 year hiatus - having only reluctantly left before as I was no longer in the area. But I"m back in the area now and THRILLED to have the whole SmilesNY team taking care of me again. With people like that you know you have the best of care, and I for one don't need to lose any sleep worrying about my teeth! "They got me"."- T.C. / Google / May 18, 2021
The use of lasers in dentistry is a relatively new advent. Dental lasers can be used in the treatment of tooth decay, gum disease, biopsy and lesion removal, and teeth whitening procedures. In dentistry, different types of lasers serve several unique functions. When used in surgical dental procedures, lasers act as a cutting instrument. Lasers can also be used to "cure" or "set" a filling by strengthening the bond between the restoration and the natural tooth. At SmilesNY, lasers are also used to enhance the effects of in-office whitening systems. Whether you are looking for a more effective treatment or are wanting to improve the brightness of your smiles, we can help specialize a laser treatment to fit your specific needs and wants.
What to Expect
At SmilesNY, we perform laser treatments as in-office procedures and they typically only require a local anesthetic. However, other sedation options are available if you have any anxiety or dental fears. Before your procedure, your dentists will go over exactly what to expect during the treatment. Laser treatments minimize bleeding and can eliminate the need for stitches in laser gum treatments which can lead to quicker healing times.
Patients will be given recovery instructions before they are discharged to go home. Considering that your gums may be sore or swollen, you may want to adhere to a liquid or soft food diet for a few days. For gum treatments, you may have to schedule a follow-up appointment so that your SmilesNY dentist can assess your healing and decide if another treatment is necessary. If a biopsy was conducted, you may need to come back into our office to receive your results. If oral cancer is diagnosed, your dentist will go over your treatment options and next steps.
Once your laser treatment plan is created, a member of our financial team will go over the costs. SmilesNY accepts several payment methods, including low-interest medical financing. If you have dental insurance, our office will contact your carrier to determine your coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
To get a quicker and more accurate treatment, our New York dentists employ an advanced laser system for restorative and cosmetic procedures. Whether you have to take care of gum disease, eradicate tooth decay, or improve the appearance of your smile, laser treatments offer faster appointments and recovery times.
